Background
Michelle is a middle child, mixed-race, 5th generation Angeleno. She has witnessed the power of being in community and building with others -"a middle child is an ultimate bridge." Her family helped build the first church, park, and market in Atwater Village. She saw her grandmother lend money to the unbanked from their dining room table and the rooms filled with "family" during the holidays. These moments shape her approach to "the" work and keep her curious about including more people in all spaces.
While she has had long-term stays in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago, she resides in Los Angeles's hometown with her partner Jonathan and their dog Rocco.
